该剧改编自朱塞佩·托马西·迪·兰佩杜萨的同名小说，设定在1860年代西西里社会变革的末尾，Deva Cassel饰演美丽的中产阶级年轻女子Angelica Sedara，她成为了一场社会混乱的催化剂。
